Rockin' the Standards retains # 1 spot for Children's Educational Music on Amazon.com

As of this writing Rockin' the Standards remains the # 1 MP3 download on Amazon.com in the category of Children's Educational Music. We are thrilled that America is catching our vision of having real rock n' roll music that also happens to help elementary students remember difficult math concepts. Half of the people involved in Rockin' the Standards are elementary school teachers. We use our own music in the classroom just about everyday. It is incredible to see the power of educational rock n' roll music in the classroom. We've seen third graders remember place value to the hundred billions and to the right of the decimal to the ten-thousandths by rockin' out to our # 1 hit song THE PLACE VALUE RAP. This is just one example of how our 14 math rock songs are making a difference in the lives of elementary students. If you're not using music in your classroom, you and your students are missing out big time!

This past week we shipped CD orders to lots of new fans in California. This was due to the fact that we were featured in the Press Enterprise earlier in the week. We also shipped CDs to new fans in the following states:

New York
Virginia
Florida

America, thanks again for making us # 1! Tell your family, friends, and even your enemies about Rockin' the Standards!

Rockin' the Standards still # 1 MP3 Download at Amazon.com; Featured on Teachers.Net

WOW! As of this writing we are still # 1 on Amazon.com in the category of Children's Educational Music. We are competing with the big boys. One of the bands near the top with us is They Might Be Giants. Little did I know that they are backed by Disney. Only in America could a couple of teachers and their musically talented friends reach # 1 in their music genre by working hard to spread the word about their unique educational rock n' roll. Help our campaign to compete with the Disney heavy hitters by e-mailing your friends and family our website, blog, and YouTube links.

This month our band is featured on Teachers.Net in their online magazine called the Gazette. We are in a special feature called Teachers.Net Recommends... Thank you to all you T-Net users who have supported RTS in the past. Help us compete with the Disney heavy hitters by letting your friends on T-Net know about us. Teachers.Net plans to do a Rockin' the Standards CD give away promotion in the near future. Keep an eye out for that!
O.K. America, help us pass up the Jonas Brothers, Camp Rock, and Miley Cyrus. We came close a few days ago.(Read the posting on Sept. 29th about how we reached #6 just behind Camp Rock and the Jonas Brothers) THANKS AMERICA!!!!!!!

Rockin' the Standards takes on Camp Rock, The Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus

Today Rockin' the Standards reached new heights at Amazon.com. Our album "MATH" held on to the # 1 spot in the MP3 album download category of Children's Educational Music . The bigger news is that we reached # 6 in the MP3 album download category of Children's Music. That category includes Disney's heavy hitters Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, and Camp Rock. You have to understand how huge this is for us. We are a couple of elementary school teachers who teamed up with a couple of our musically talented friends to help elementary students learn with the assistance of some rock n' roll. For us to be # 6, right behind Camp Rock and the Jonas Brothers is mind boggling. It's a God thing for sure. We haven't spent any $$$ on advertising. America please keep helping us. How cool would it be if we passed up the Disney heavy hitters. Thanks America!

Rockin' the Standards reaches # 1 AGAIN on Septemeber 28th & 29th; Press Enterprise Article

Thank you America. You are helping your elementary school children and the crazy teachers and musicians behind Rockin' the Standards by downloading and purchasing our album titled "MATH." Yesterday and this morning we were ranked # 1 in our genre of Children's Educational Music on Amazon.com. Tell everyone you know that has elementary students in their lives about us. Help us reach our goal of 10,000 downloads. This morning we are excited to be ranked # 18 overall in the broader Children's Music category on Amazon.com. That category includes Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, High School Musical, basically all the big names in Children's Music. Wouldn't that be something if we could reach # 1 in that category and beat out Miley Cyrus with no advertising budget? Today our band is featured in The Press Enterprise. Read the article and send the link to all your friends with elementary school kids. We are trying to revolutionize children's educational music. Thanks again America and keep on rockin' with your kids.

Rockin' the Standards hits # 1 on Amazon for Children's Educational Music

Rockin' the Standards continues to have an amazing September. On the 16th we hit # 1 on Amazon.com for MP3 downloads in the category of Children's Music- Educational. We were obviously very thrilled about being # 1. In order to stay on top we need your help America. We are a couple of elementary school teachers and musicians with no advertising budget. Many of the albums in our genre are backed by large companies with lots of advertising $$$. We haven't spent any $$$ on advertising. We are relying on the American public to hear how awesome our educational rock n' roll is and to tell family, friends, parents, grandparents, and elementary school teachers about us by word of mouth or e-mail. Thanks for spreading the word about Rockin' the Standards and our album titled MATH. One more stat to share. Our # 1 hit on our album "MATH" titled THE PLACE VALUE RAP reached # 8 for singles in our category. So even if you could download that song for as little as $0.89 that would help us out tremendously! Thanks AMERICA!

AMAZING SEPTEMBER- AMERICA keep helping us reach 10,000 downloads!

Rockin' the Standards has had an amazing month of September so far. Earlier this month we were the # 1 selling album download at digstation http://www.digstation.com/ , a site dedicated to selling independent music. We thought that was quite remarkable considering that our album is educational rock n' roll. Who would have thought that an educational rock n' roll album could be # 1. Maybe AMERICA is catching our vision. If you make educational music that doesn't sound like it was played on your grandma's organ kids, parents, and teachers will love it. Earlier this month our album MATH reached as high as # 2 in MP3 downloads at Amazon in the category of Children's Music- Educational. We couldn't quite pass up They Might Be Giants, but maybe with your help we can get to #1 in the near future. Here's our Amazon link so you can help us out:http://www.amazon.com/Math/dp/B001BMS5K8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1221402247&sr=8-3

We don't really have a way to tell how our album is doing on iTunes because they don't have a ranking system, or at least we haven't figured out if they do. They report their sales to us every two or three months so we are hoping for a nice report this winter.

Another amazing thing about September 2008 is that we were featured in a popular music magazine called Paste Magazine. You can check it out from our PRESS page on our website:

So today's rankings:

Amazon- #5 in the category of educational

Digstation- #3 overall, this is huge for an educational music album- get us to # 1

PayPlay- #24 in the category of educational. Come on, if you use PayPlay help us move UP!

AMERICA help Rockin' the Standards reach 10,000 downloads

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Rockin' the Standards blog. We are an educational rock n' roll band based in Southern CA. Our new album MATH is sweeping the nation and helping elementary students remember difficult math concepts while rockin' out at the same time. We are currently on a campaign to get 10,000 downloads or CDs sales in order to get the attention of the major record labels and to put COOL EDUCATIONAL ROCK MUSIC ON THE MAP! We are a couple of elementary school teachers and musicians who decided to put the power of rock n' roll to work in our classrooms. The result evolved into our band Rockin' the Standards. If you could even just download our # 1 hit song THE PLACE VALUE RAP for only $0.89 that would help us out tremendously. Seriously, bust out the $0.89 right now and help the kids in your life and the teachers and musicians behind RTS at the same time. Helping out kids and teachers at the same time, what could be more noble than that?
