Join Rockin' the Standards at two of Southern California's largest county fairs this summer. America's only true educational rock n' roll band is reading to bring "Learning @ Full Volume!" to the fair. Please visit the fair on these dates:

2009 San Diego County Fair on June 16th @ 1:00 p.m. on the Plaza Stage. The 16th is kids free day at the fair and "Frugal Fair Day" with $2.00 adult tickets available at participating Albertson's grocery stores.

Thanks to everyone who keeps spreading the news about our band Rockin' the Standards. Today we hit # 1 again on Amazon.com. We are getting ready to jump on a flight this Sunday to perform a live show in Radford, Virginia on Monday. This will be our first trip to the East Coast and we are pumped to rock out with the students at Belle Heth Elementary. Hats off to the PTA at Belle Heth who is making this possible for the students at their school. People often ask us if we perform out of state. WE DO! Rockin' the Standards Plays Live Concert at Warren Elementary in Tucson, Arizona

Rockin' the Standards recently hit the road to Tucson, Arizona. We brought our real rock n' roll music that happens to teach academic standards to Warren Elementary. We had an all school concert at 9:00 in the morning. We believe we're the first rock n' roll band to have a concert done by 10:15 a.m. We then played again for the students and their parents at 7:00 p.m. during a family night event. The band wants to say thanks to all of the students and staff at Warren Elementary. You guys ROCK!

As of this writing Rockin' the Standards remains the # 1 MP3 download on Amazon.com in the category of Children's Educational Music. We are thrilled that America is catching our vision of having real rock n' roll music that also happens to help elementary students remember difficult math concepts. Half of the people involved in Rockin' the Standards are elementary school teachers. We use our own music in the classroom just about everyday. It is incredible to see the power of educational rock n' roll music in the classroom. We've seen third graders remember place value to the hundred billions and to the right of the decimal to the ten-thousandths by rockin' out to our # 1 hit song THE PLACE VALUE RAP. This is just one example of how our 14 math rock songs are making a difference in the lives of elementary students. One of the bands near the top with us is They Might Be Giants. Little did I know that they are backed by Disney. Today Rockin' the Standards reached new heights at Amazon.com. Our album "MATH" held on to the # 1 spot in the MP3 album download category of Children's Educational Music . Rockin' the Standards continues to have an amazing September. On the 16th we hit # 1 on Amazon.com for MP3 downloads in the category of Children's Music- Educational. We were obviously very thrilled about being # 1. In order to stay on top we need your help America. We are a couple of elementary school teachers and musicians with no advertising budget. Many of the albums in our genre are backed by large companies with lots of advertising $$$. We haven't spent any $$$ on advertising. Rockin' the Standards has had an amazing month of September so far. Earlier this month we were the # 1 selling album download at digstation http://www.digstation.com/ , a site dedicated to selling independent music. We thought that was quite remarkable considering that our album is educational rock n' roll. Who would have thought that an educational rock n' roll album could be # 1. Maybe AMERICA is catching our vision. If you make educational music that doesn't sound like it was played on your grandma's organ kids, parents, and teachers will love it. Earlier this month our album MATH reached as high as # 2 in MP3 downloads at Amazon in the category of Children's Music- Educational. We couldn't quite pass up They Might Be Giants, but maybe with your help we can get to #1 in the near future. Hello everyone. Welcome to the Rockin' the Standards blog. We are an educational rock n' roll band based in Southern CA. Our new album MATH is sweeping the nation and helping elementary students remember difficult math concepts while rockin' out at the same time. We are currently on a campaign to get 10,000 downloads or CDs sales in order to get the attention of the major record labels and to put COOL EDUCATIONAL ROCK MUSIC ON THE MAP! We are a couple of elementary school teachers and musicians who decided to put the power of rock n' roll to work in our classrooms. The result evolved into our band Rockin' the Standards.
